FAQs

1. What is self-defence?
Self-defence is the art of defending oneself in the face of danger. Over here at Personal Defence Academy, we believe that self-defence is first and foremost a mindset. With the right attitude, wit and skill, one can overcome any challenge in life.

2. Why holistic self-defence?
Holistic self-defence is the the development of the body, mind and spirit in harmony. It is a core value that we strongly believe in. Only when we are at one with ourselves, are we able to focus our energies to deal with adversity while remaining strong and steadfast.

3. What can I expect to learn?
You can expect to learn simple and effective self-defence techniques, as well as useful mindsets to approach various self-defence situations. As you grow with us, we also hope to share and exchange words of wisdom and lifestyle approaches that will help you develop spiritually.

4. I have no martial arts/athletic experience, is this ok?
Yes, it is okay! In fact, those without experience are most suited and in need of self-defence training. Each session is designed to be simple and easy to learn. All we require is that you come with an open mind, join in, and most importantly have fun!

5. Which class is the most suitable for me?
As every individual is different, your needs and requirements will differ. The best way is to come for a trial class, share with us your goals and what you wish to achieve, and our instructors will do our best to help you chart your optimal growth path.

6. How much does it cost?
Currently, a 4 session class card costs $100 and must be used within a month, while an 8 session class card costs $200 and must be used within 3 months. You can also opt for a drop-in session at $30 per class. For more pricing details, refer here.
